We are prepared to take your guests on a trip they will never forget! What could be better than reflecting back in time at all of your cherished moments through the decades; Big Band Era of the 40’s, Oldies of the 50’s, Flower Power of the 60’s, and 70’s Disco! We will take you there through sight and sound, visual stimulation reminding you of what it was like back then, and the greatest dance music of each era. This will be The Event of the Century!
The main room will be made up of a combination of what has been, and what is to come… Creating an outrageous look and guaranteed to “WOW” all of your guests the ballroom will give the feel of understated elegance as it is broken up into sections, each featuring a different era.
The entire perimeter of the ballroom will be treated with backdrops of each era setting the tone for the evening. Colorful spotlighting focused on this fabric will add atmosphere and warmth to the room. The theme will be continued and enhanced by splitting the room into four (4) sections with separate décor treatments taking you on a trip from past to present.
Big Band Era of the 40’s
The days of Speakeasy’s, Flapper Girls, and Dixieland Jazz will be re-created in this impressive representation of a nostalgic era! As the guests first enter the room, they will see the first era of the evening come to life, “The Supper Club”. This look, lighting and highlighted décor area will be the focal point as guests begin their evening. Guests will be greeted and brought in through an old style “Supper Club” entrance by flapper girls. Once they enter the main ballroom, they will hear the sounds and see the “Decades of Dance” band on stage performing the hottest swing tunes of that era. A great start to the night! Table centerpieces for this era consist of top hats, canes, red feather boas and white gloves.
The Nifty 50’s
The days of James Dean and Marilyn Monroe are brought back through “golden oldies”, 45 records, 50’s automobiles, pink and blue fabrics, musical notes and a mirage of old- time favorites!! This era will be featured during the first course of dinner by highlighting the 50’s décor, table centerpieces and band in 50’s costumes providing 50’s dance contests (ie; hula hoop, limbo, etc.).
Flower Power Of The 60’s/70’s
In this section, we will feature the most well known items of the late 60’s and early 70’s including psychedelic patterns and colors, specialty lighting, and a multitude of items reminiscent of the era. The “Flower Power” era will be alive again following the main entrée course of dinner. Centerpieces will consist of oversized daisies with psychedelic patterns and fresh daisies at the base. Once again, the band will come out in full costume and get everyone up on the dance floor to the classic rock sounds of this era.
Disco 70's
Do you wanna get funky? That’s what we’ll do in the ballroom!! Bell bottoms, wild print, funky disco colors, and a giant mirror ball will just be a few of the items that make up this great theme!
The table treatments will consist of a black linen alternating between blue and silver lame overlays.
The Awesome 80’s
Take a trip through MTV land! Here we will feature all of the one-hit wonders that we’re the huge part of the 80’s era. Big hair, metal, Michael Jackson and Madonna we’re just a few of the big themes of this era. We will recreate all of it! The big lights of that era will be flashing as the band takes the stage following dessert and leads the party on into the night!!
The impressive part of this event is the color changes that take place throughout the course of the evening. As each era comes to pass, the lighting will focus on that era and give the feeling of actually being there! The appropriate music will correspond with the lighting and look of the room.
Entertainment:
The Decades of Dance Band is an incredibly "HOT", high-energy dance band capable of entertaining and motivating any type of audience! This group takes you on a trip through the decades with music from each era, multiple costume changes, special effects and an incredible group of interactive dancers that will keep everyone dancing... Guaranteed!
They start with the Swing era... Dressed appropriately, the band comes out and gets the crowd loosened up with the most recognizable songs of the era. With a little extra "pizzazz" thrown in, the Decades of Dance Band gets everyone up to "Jump, Jive and Wail" during this first set.
The next stop is the rock & roll days of the 50's! The era when rock was born! You'll see poodle skirts, slicked back hair, white tees and leather jackets. Interactive dances may include a limbo contest or hula-hoop contest! The 50's will definitely be revisited this night!
Flower Power is here again... You guessed it! The 70's were the time of peace, love and classic rock and it will all be re-created at your event. The greatest party music of all time will be played to keep the dance floor moving. This set will definitely be a party!
The Awesome 80’s are here! That's right! It's time to party into the era of MTV... During this set, the Decades of Dance Band takes you into the television sets of America with the music, costumes, intelligent lighting and special effects of the 80’s. The hottest dance music is played and everyone enjoys the remainder of the night dancing to their favorite music of the 80’s through today...
This is an incredible themed event designed especially to give your guests a look back on the good times!
